NEOTCL -- NEOSOFT TCL


NeoTcl is a synthesis of Tcl, Tk, and several of the prominent Tcl add-on
technologies including [incr tcl], color pixmap and GIF support, Expect,
Tcl-DP (Tcl Distributed Processing) and Extended Tcl.

A number of new NeoSoft-developed commands and libraries are also
included, providing interfaces to disk-based btree and hashtables,
TCP/IP client-server objects and examples, including IRC robot
object, rfc931 authentication support, support for the use of
Tcl for World Wide Web CGI scripts, and code to parse web log files.

Also included are procs to handle file requesters, dialog boxes,
pulldown menus and class libraries for databases, listboxes,
a tk-based notepad, progress notifiers, UDP-based object sharing,
and more.

The code is copyrighted.  Various parts are copyrighted by their different
authors, including the University of California at Berkeley, AT&T Bell
Laboratories, NeoSoft, and Mark Diekhans and Karl Lehenbauer, among
others.  The copyrights, however, only strive to insure that credit to the 
authors is maintained and that the authors will not be sued if the software
malfunctions.

NeoTcl compiles and runs on most Unix and Unix-like platforms, including Sun,
IBM, HP, Cray, PC, SGI, and many others.  (Or at least it should be
close.)
